For the past several years, the Evol Intent team has been the driving force of the drum’n’bass movement in the USA. The rise of the creative union of three Americans Knick (Nick Weiller), Gigantor (Mike Diasio), and Enemy (Ashley Jones) began with their tracks "7 Angels With 7 Plagues," "Red Soil," and the remix of "Where's The Score?" making it into the playlists of artists such as Technical Itch and Dylan. The label giant Renegade Hardware immediately noticed the talent of the Atlanta guys and signed them to an exclusive contract. Dieselboy himself asks them to remix his track, and later Evol Intent releases a remix of the legendary producer BT.
Evol Intent runs their own label Evol Intent, where new material from Mumblz, Arsenic, and South African talents Counterstrike is released. In the video game Need for Speed, released by Electronic Arts, to the delight of fans, two tracks by Evol Intent serve as the soundtrack. The project feels cramped within a single style, so the new album released in 2007 is not limited to just drum’n’bass – there is a noticeable influence of IDM, downtempo, hip-hop, and industrial. The guys draw inspiration for their tracks from aggressive music – punk, rock, sincerely expressing naked feelings and primal emotions in their tracks.
The productivity of Evol Intent seems simply phenomenal – one can only guess how the guys successfully combine continuous DJ tours, a busy release schedule of their own releases and remixes, and even development of their own clothing line.
