Amsterdam Dance Event 2013
Клубные зарубежные · 28.09.2013
The last weekend of September has passed, marking the end of the club season parties in Ibiza. All clubbers, promoters, and DJs are now looking towards the capital of the Netherlands - the city of Amsterdam, where every October the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) takes place - the largest annual global forum covering the entire spectrum of events in modern electronic music. While the Winter Music Conference (WMC) in Miami in March is mainly about parties where record labels and their artists present new projects, singles, albums, and set musical trends for the season, and the June Sonar in Barcelona focuses on avant-garde electronics and multimedia art, ADE is particularly strong in its daytime segment, which attracts all leading figures in the global club industry to summarize results and plan new business development strategies.
This year, the Amsterdam Dance Event will take place for the eighteenth time from October 16 to 20. In total, ADE will include about 400 different events at more than 90 different venues. The organizers expect the total number of visitors to reach a record 300,000 people.
Let’s take a closer look at what ADE 2013 will consist of. Firstly, there is the Festival. From Wednesday to Sunday, 350 parties will be held in 75 clubs, featuring all possible styles and trends of modern electronic music. Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Danny Tenaglia, Laurent Garnier, Loco Dice, Maceo Plex, Paul Oakenfold, Richie Hawtin, Tiësto, and many others will present their showcases and concerts.
Secondly, there is Playground. About 20 special venues where various brands, labels, and companies present new musical instruments, music creation software, conduct documentary film screenings, video art exhibitions, and interactive presentations open to everyone.
The third and most important part is the Conference. The daytime program is filled with lectures, reports, masterclasses, round tables, and debates, consisting of the following panels:
ADE Pro - a conference for industry professionals who come from all over the world to share their experiences and find new business contacts.
ADE Tech - a technology forum dedicated to discussing trends and new opportunities for development in the world of online music.
Harde Dance Event - focused on events in heavy styles, such as hardcore and hard dance.
Beamlab - discussion of the latest innovations in visual technologies and stage design.
ADE Next - a platform where aspiring DJs, musicians, and producers can interact with leading artists, label managers, and booking agents.
ADE University - for those who want to start working in the club show business. Experts and teachers share the realities of working in the entertainment industry, aiming to inspire and nurture a new generation of professionals in the music industry.
ADE Green - outdoor events and environmental protection.
Last but not least, as part of the Amsterdam Dance Event, the influential English magazine DJ Magazine will once again hold the DJ Mag Top 100 awards ceremony, where we will find out the top 100 DJs and the top 100 clubs of the past year.
