Vinyl Picnic: DJ Day

On March 10, the MIGZ festival and Arma 17 club invite all DJs, music lovers, and vinyl collectors to celebrate DJ Day and Vinyl Picnic from noon until late evening.
In the documentary film 'Villalobos,' for about half an hour, the camera captures Ricardo Villalobos digging through new records, commenting on something in the process. 'How can one do without records?!' Ricardo asks. 'Here you have both sound and aesthetics. I will play on vinyl for as long as possible.'
Vinyl records, despite all their seeming technological antiquity, seem to be the basis, the foundation of DJing. Some DJs can tell amazing stories about the covers, some boast about rare promos and forgotten 'gems' that never saw the light in digital reincarnations.
The team of enthusiasts who regularly organize the 'Vinyl Picnic' puts in maximum effort to preserve the tradition of vinyl records in the unfriendly Moscow reality. Several times a year, well-known Moscow DJs, collectors, and even whole labels gather in one place to create the atmosphere of a perfect vinyl store. A store where the sellers are top-notch, buyers think in whole discographies, and their friends soak in the amazing atmosphere.
Not neglecting the somewhat playful DJ Day, the 'Vinyl Picnic' emerges for one day within the walls of the Moscow club, Arma 17. Famous DJs showcase their vinyl collections, collectors start communicating with each other to exchange items of interest, and buyers get acquainted with all the charms of 'digging.'
In Moscow, it is difficult to enjoy digging through vinyl crates, many find it hard to understand the feelings experienced by a person who has found a real gem in stacks. But several times a year, when the 'Vinyl Picnic' happens, everyone has the opportunity. After all, vinyl is one of the key elements of DJ culture.
