Lee Curtiss

A native of western Michigan, now residing in Detroit, Lee Curtiss developed his unique background since the late 90s when he was still engaged in avant-garde, mixed dance music. Constantly changing and a diligent student of his craft, he penetrated the very pulsating aorta of underground dance music, but his skills have only recently begun to receive the well-deserved attention of the techno and house music elite. Growing up between the two worlds of Chicago and Detroit shaped Lee's approach to DJing and composition: balancing between groove, heavy house, and techno. Over the last year, Lee has been touring intensively across America and Europe. The dark, sexual, and uncompromising originality of his music has garnered him long-awaited attention. He was invited to the DEMF and Mutek festivals in 2007. Moving to Berlin triggered a new wave of tours, compositions, and DJing. Matthew Dear recently named Lee as one of the key figures in the list of emerging talents in URB magazine's 'hundred'. He is also a regular guest in mixes and charts alongside the best DJs.
